Uniper decides to divest a 28.97 % stake in Latvijas Gāze JSC (LG)

Uniper has agreed to sell a 28.97 % stake in Latvijas Gāze JSC (LG) to the Marguerite Fund. LG is the sole natural gas utility in Latvia with exclusive rights to transmission, storage, distribution and trading of natural gas in the country. The shares have been sold through a structured sale process. The purchase price and other details are contractually subject to non-disclosure.

The agreed transaction is a result of constructive negotiations which started in early 2015. The transaction was executed in Riga, Latvia, on 28 January 2016. Uniper will remain a shareholder of LG with an 18.26 % stake.
